Dear Friend
PROMOTING HOUSING CHOICE
FOR OLDER PEOPLE
DO YOU HAVE A CONCERN ON A HOUSING ISSUE AND WOULD LIKE TO
DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ?
Older people's housing groups and forums can play an
important role in influencing local housing provision.
making sure that older people's views and aspirations are
taken into account.
Speaking up for our age the policy team at help the aged
are joining up with Care and Repair England and Age Concern
England to set up a small grant programme to support older
people's groups who would like to set up local activities
or events on housing issues.
LOCAL OLDER PEOPLE'S GROUPS CAN APPLY FOR SMALL GRANTS
BETWEEN £500 AND £1000 TO HELP THEM TO UNDERTAKE A WIDE
RANGE OF ACTIVITIES THAT AIM TO RESULT IN BETTER HOUSING

groups about their experience and priorities for action.
This will form the basis for influencing local housing
policies and highlighting issues that need to be raised
with national government. for an overview of some of the
issues effecting older people you can download a copy of
the help the aged report 'HOUSING CHOICE' at
